Veggie Update for Today's Market

Update:
First Light Farm is unable to attend today's market, the last of the season, due to some crop damage.

This means that you will not find the Winter produce that we expected at the market today.  You will still be able to find other fantastic Winter Farm products such as Grass fed beef products, Pork, Goat, Lamb, Apples, Cider, Cheese, Eggs, Maple Syrup, and Honey.  We will also have a great variety of specialty vendors to supplement your pantry and your holiday shopping.

Support your community, buy local and fresh!

Thank you for your understanding!
See you at the market 3-7 pm at the Cove Community Center, 19 East Corning St., Beverly, MA.

Fresh and Local for your Holidays!

The next market is on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Cove Community Center, at 19 East Corning Street from 3-7 pm.

Your local worm expert, MariePatrice will be back this weeek to teach us how to build a worm house for your own indoor worm composting.  Preparing the worm "house" is a great kids' activity and an opportunity for all of us to learn more about these industrious red wigglers.

This week pick up a free basket at the market table and fill it with market goodies for a special holiday gift. Here are some ideas based on what will be available this week:

Pick something sweet: Honey, Maple Syrup, Jam, Scones, Cookies, or Chocolates
Add something fresh:  Cortland Apples, Butternut Squash or Acorn Squash
Pair it with savory:  Smoked Gouda, Aged Cheddar Cheese or Herb Infused Olive Oil for dipping
Top it off with a treasure:  Hand-dyed Silk and Wool Scarves, Vegetable dyed Silk Scarves, Handpainted Glass Ornaments, Original Jewelry made from pottery and other natural materials, or Handmade pottery

You can fill out your market gift baskets with pancake mix, your favorite soup recipe, or homemade bread. This is a great way to simplify your shopping and get something useful and special. Ask a volunteer at the market table for more ideas or help finding the above mentioned items. Happy Shopping!
See you at the market!
