Farmers' Market today from 3:30-6:45 pm at Veterans Park down by the Beverly Depot, on the corner of Rantoul St. and Railroad Ave.

There will be all kinds of super fresh and local greens, such as lettuce, spinach, arugula; beets, cucumbers, radishes, scallions, and green garlic are all in season as well.

There should be strawberries again today. Remember that these strawberries are quite perishable, unlike the kind that you get from the grocery store which are sprayed with anti-mold and anti-fungal chemicals. These strawberries need to be eaten in 24 hours or frozen or preserved. You can do a quick preserve by mashing the strawberries with a little honey and lemon and then storing the mixture up to one week in your fridge. This mixture could also be frozen.

We will have grass fed beef and farm fresh cheeses, prepared foods from the Organic Garden Cafe and Thoreau Foods. Keep your eye out for our local health and wellness vendors: Ahimsa Massage, The Healing Center, and Beverly Farms Soapwerks.

The Market Tent will have a hand washing station and water to refill your bottles, or use one of our compostable cups. Also, come check out the new Compost Station at the Beverly Farmers' Market! Bring your compostable kitchen scraps to deposit at the Compost Station. We will take it away to Long Hill farm. Your scraps will be used to grow your veggies!

The Farmers' Market Starts Today! June 20th!

It is a beautiful day for Opening Day of The Beverly Farmers' Market.

Come down to Veterans Park, on the corner of Rantoul St. and Railroad Ave. from 3:30-6:45 pm TODAY!!! You can expect to find beautiful greens such as lettuce, spinach, arugula, and cabbage. There will be strawberries, grass fed beef and cheeses, cucumbers, zingy radishes, and scallions!

You can buy beautiful fiber art from Little Owl Arts, get Reiki from The Healing Center, listen to music by Jonathan Rand, and learn more about gardening from Soil and Seed Gardens.

Bring your water bottles to refill with our water canteens! Bring your compostable kitchen scraps to leave at our new Beverly Compost Initiative Composting Station!

Opening Day of the Farmers' Market is this Monday, June 20, 2011!
3:30-6:45 pm at Veterans Park on Rantoul St. and Railroad Ave.

There will be super fresh, local veggies, baked goods, grass fed beef and farm cheeses, honey, massage, reiki, soap, books, dog treats, and music!

Come to the manager's tent to use your SNAP(food stamp) benefits. We have a great incentive program at the market again this year, offering a 50% bonus to any person using SNAP benefits at the market.

This year we will also have large canteens of water to refill your water bottles. There will also be compostable cups available to use.

Another exciting new program at the market this year is the Beverly Compost Initiative. The market is offering a free composting service to all Beverly residents. You may bring all of your vegetarian kitchen scraps to the farmers' market to be composted here in Beverly. Look for our composting containers at the market this week.
